Aarunya has implemented a "Breathe Free" policy that includes our exclusive Health & Safety Guidelines & Preventative Protocols for the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak.

​

This has been launched in line with Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization’s guidelines. The manual covers every aspect of the hotels operations; guest and staff contact areas, equipment, safety measures and emergency protocols in place. This is in addition to the continuous staff training that is being carried out. The document is available as a template for all industry partners both locally and internationally and will be updated constantly to reflect all new information and measures as received. Aarunya has taken every step necessary to ensure the highest level of hygiene and safety is maintained while we look forward to welcoming guests back to Sri Lanka and to our beautiful resort.

PCR Tests

Guests must show evidence of a negative PCR test from an accredited laboratory taken 96 hours before boarding of flights.

​

PCR tests conducted during the stay period to be pre-paid to the hotel soon after reservation. The first PCR test will be done shortly after arrival in Sri Lanka at the hotel, or at Asiri Private Hospital Kandy with a 24 hour drive-in testing center. The hotel Reservations Team will contact you with further information upon booking.

​

Each PCR test costs USD 40 per person.

​

All PCR tests will be performed by a private sector hospital laboratory approved by the Sri Lanka Ministry of Health.

​

If any of the PCR test results are positive, the hotel management should inform the area representative of the Ministry of Health. and follow the treatment protocol advised by the MOH in consultation with the hotel doctor.

The guest needs to produce the original copy of the vaccination certificate together with a certified English language translation (if the certificate is not in the English language) to the Airport Health Officer on arrival and the hotel management.

​

The guest must do a PCR test within 24 hours after arrival at the hotel.

​

If the Day 1 PCR test result is negative, the guest may stay in the hotel until the completion of day seven and are allowed to visit approved sites of interest within a bio-security bubble after the test result is obtained.

​

After the completion of 7 days, the guest must undergo a repeat PCR test on Day 7 at the hotel.

​

If the Day 7 test result is negative, the guest may leave the hotel and is free to make their travel arrangements after clearance from the area representative of the Ministry of Health.

A pre-confirmed hotel booking is mandatory for the first 14 days in any certified 'Safe and Secure' (Level 1) hotels.

​

The guest must do a PCR test within 24 hours after arrival at the hotel.

​

Once the Day 1 results are available and confirmed as negative, guests can visit the approved important sites in a biosecurity bubble.

​

If the guest departs from Sri Lanka within less than 14 days, a second PCR test should be done depending on the date of departure and should have a negative test report before departure (eg. If the guest departs on Day 8, a second PCR test should be done between Day 7 and Day 7).

​

If the guest stays for less than 96 hours (ninety-six hours) in Sri Lanka, they do not need to conduct the exit PCR test (It is needed only if there is a requirement of the airline/ country of destination).

​

If the guest stays up to 14 days or more, a second PCR test should be conducted between Day 11 to Day 14.

 

If the guest is staying more than 14 days, they can be released from the Level 1 Hotel if the PCR test results on Day 11 to 14 are negative.

COVID-19 insurance cover for one month is required at USD12 per person from People’s Insurance PLC, to be pre-purchased and charged by the hotel upon reservation.

​

A banking and administration fee of USD26 per booking will also be charged.

Transfers from international airports to the hotel, transfers between Level 1 hotels and transfers to places of interest / excursions are provided by the hotel or a Level 1 service provider, and must be pre-booked.

​

Excursions to permitted places of interest will be arranged by the hotel or your travel agent. Travelling will be conducted in a biosafety bubble for your safety.
